The Food and Wine Philosophy
Our Chef is dedicated to his ongoing relationship with local fishermen, organic farmers . We are blessed in the Gulf Islands to be surrounded with the abundance of fresh grown produce, free range livestock and artisan cheeses. Our menus change frequently to best reflect our four-season climate. In addition, we take into consideration allergies and dietary restrictions of your guests.
Our Wine Experts will speak with you and help you choose the perfect wines to compliment your dinner, your palate and your budget. We have a extensive selection of both local and international wines to choose from. We are happy to assist you in choosing the appropriate wine selections for your menu.
Exchange your vows in the open ocean air on one of our lawns, in a romantic corner of our garden or on our sandy beach.
We will provide a registry signing table and chair, and witnesses if needed. Your number of guests for the ceremony must not exceed the number attending the reception. Any extra decoration for the reception is handled by the wedding party or wedding planner. We can provide a champagne toast with canapés following the ceremony if desired.
Our cuisine features a simple and delicious menu to suit any taste. Our Chef certainly goes out of his way to be sure your dishes are memorable and delicious.
Amenities available feature a surround sound system, dance floor , projector and screen for slide shows, and fabulous West Coast décor.
We are excited to help you plan your perfect day: you can choose to have outdoor dining, with an indoor reception to follow. Our Chef and Restaurant Manager prefer to help you with choices of a plated menu, to ensure you have that "special" event you are wanting.
CakesBecause we know how personal it is, we welcome you to bring your own cake from your favourite bakery.
We are happy to set up a cake table as a self serve station with our compliments. Should you prefer it be served to each guest, there will be a cutting and plating fee of $3 per person.
Signage and DecorationsOur weddings all have amazing personal touches.
We will help guide you to ensure all signage and decorations are perfect for our venues...and most people find that the amazing ambiance carries most of the decorations!
Event GuaranteesThe Galiano Inn will require a guaranteed number of guests, and their menu choices, two weeks prior to the event, to ensure everything is perfectly planned for your big day.
PaymentThe wedding deposit will be required at the time of contract signing to reserve your wedding date. 50% of the deposit is non-refundable unless we are able to book another wedding for that date.
We will block and hold rooms for your guests.
Rooms in the block that are not booked by your guests will be released 30 days prior to your event, depending on season. A down payment of the first night and tax for all rooms booked by your guests will be due upon room reservation.
The final invoice will be due at the end of the function and will include 18% service charge.
CancellationAll cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations on your guests’ accommodations received 7 days prior to the scheduled date will receive a refund on the deposit minus a $25 cancellation fee per room booked. If accommodations are cancelled in one week of the scheduled arrival the deposits will be forfeited.
BC Marriage RegulationsA Marriage License must be obtained by the bride and groom before the wedding. Local Marriage Commissioners are available to perform your ceremony.
FlowersThe Galiano Inn & Spa does not offer floral decoration, but you can find wonderful options on Galiano who we love to work with. Please book this in advance, and you or your planner will be responsible to coordinate the set up for the arrangements.
Music and MusiciansThere are several options for musicians to enhance the ceremony and / or reception of your special day.
We're happy to help you find what you're looking for.
We're gladly offer our PA system for your use, but we do not have extra equipment to facilitate a full band. Any extra equipment needed, would need to be supplied and set up by the musician or D.J.
We are able to play an iPod for the ceremony both inside and out. If you prefer, you can bring an iPod for your reception, in lieu of a live band or DJ.
PhotographyChoose the ideal photography style for your personal tastes and budget. We recommend perusing websites and contacting the photographers directly to determine if they are the right fit. You are responsible for booking and paying the photographer of your choice.
Treat Yourself!Our Madrona Del Mar Spa offers a variety of services to ensure that you feel beautiful and relaxed on your special day.
Although there is no hair salon on Galiano, there are a number of hair & makeup artists and estheticians in the area. Please request our contact sheet for contact information (please note, booking and paying for these services are the responsibility of the bridal party).
